Traffic Signals
Montana Lines, Inc. is a full-service Traffic Signal Contractor. We furnish and install turn-key Traffic Signals, from excavating and placing the foundation to pulling the wire and standing the poles. Traffic Signal success has made us Montana-experts in concrete vertical shafts, horizontal directional drilling, crane work and rigging, and intersection flow. We can modify or repair an existing signal, whether planned or when responding to emergency situations.
Streetlights
Montana Lines, Inc. has furnished and installed thousands of standard and decorative street lights (luminaires), throughout Montana in our nearly four decades. The lights can include banner arms, electrical outlets for decorations, and irrigation driplines for hanging vegetation. The work required for luminaires is essentially similar to that of Traffic Signals: concrete foundations, buried conduit, and overhead erections.
Vertical Shafts
Montana Lines, Inc. uses a Lô-Dril to safely and efficiently auger vertical shafts. Our current limits are 54" dia and 40' deep. The Lô-Dril's low clearance allows us to auger under power lines and bridge overpasses. Beyond the hole, our Traffic Signal foundation experience lends itself to our quality placement of rebar, anchor bolts, and concrete.
Airport Runway Lighting
MTL furnishes and installs taxiway and runway lighting. We are experienced in installing other airport equipment as well, such as Regulators, REILs, MALSRs, PAPIs, threshold lightning, and beacons.
Megaload Support
MTL is available to help any oversized or Megaload movement through Montana. We can dismantle and reassemble Traffic Signals, overhead sign bridges, and span wire flashers. This facilitates the safe passage of overheight loads in any of Montana's most urban or rural settings. Our favorite quote from a recent Megaload night move, "We didn't know you or the signals were even there." The signals were back up in time for the morning traffic.
Rotator Structures
Montana Lines has immediate access to completely rotatable traffic structures. These are available for replacement of existing facilities in the instances where Megaload frequency warrants a permanent solution. We have worked with engineers, the Montana Department of Transportation, and a pole manufacturer to develop and produce these rotatable structures. Obstacles that can be modified to rotatable include Traffic Signals, overhead sign cantilevers, and span wire flashers. This material is in our yard and available for immediate installation.
Temporary Traffic Control
MTL employs only certified traffic control installers and devices. From plans and logistics to deployment and cleanup, there is no temporary traffic control job we cannot perform, whether urban, rural, or mobile.

Horizontal Drilling
Montana Lines offers horizontal drilling, enabling us to install conduit beneath existing roads, streams, and structures without disturbance.
Thermoplastic
MTL owns the formula for the premier hydrocarbon thermoplastic approved in Montana and installed in any northern climate. We manufacture our thermoplastic in Great Falls and have been inlaying and extruding it throughout Montana for over 35 years. Much of it is still in place and guiding traffic today.
